Home to 14 historic buildings, Green Gate Village is a beautiful part of downtown St George to explore. It's one of the largest and most diverse parks in St George that you can visit. HIdden Valley Park is a beautiful park, complete with a playground, tables, benches with covers for shade and covered picnic tables. There are also pickleball courts, sand volleyball courts, and a great playground to immerse yourself in and savor the joyful sounds of people laughing and playing. If you drive past the Dixie on the rock and then park in the parking lot, you will be next to the bridge to climb up to the Overlook and Dixie Rock.
During the summer, this is a great place to take the kids to cool off. 🥾 Best Outdoor things to do in St George. Exploring the Best of Utah: Southern Utah is nothing less than spectacular. The Petrified Sand Dunes were supposed to be a quick stop… However, we loved them so much we ended up spending hours exploring them leading up to sunset and then staying at the Snow Canyon campsite so we could go back again in the morning to see them in the early morning light! They are not signposted so can be easy to miss! It's such a fun one to burn some energy and be competitive with yourself and others. Our kids had a blast navigating the gardens in October when it was decked with spooky scarecrows and decor. Our favorite part of Snow Canyon State Park is the petrified sand dunes. Perched high above downtown St. George, Pioneer Park is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Of the hikes available, the best is the Red Reef hike to a small but beautiful seasonal waterfall. Southern Utah is the perfect winter escape for anything in the Western United States. Maybe you have a backyard or a patio to sit on and close your eyes.

Including a huge smoking volcano, decked with swings, slides, dinosaurs, zip-lines, etc., waterfalls and water-play area, musical instruments, a ride-on train, and snack booth. Now that we have 3 young kids we are always on the lookout for places the kids can run off some energy. The following suggestions are not necessarily the best places to eat (we do not feel qualified to make those judgments), but they have come with a delicious history and charm that is hard to find these days.
