The confusing thing is, Robert Holbeck likes me. But one with an intimidating family. But now it's a matter of meeting his estranged family. She seems to possibly be alive, but Harry decides that someone is using the pandemic to make it seem like she is. And, suddenly, the game is in motion. The only reason she even has the tape is because Robert is convinced he understands Harry's nature—and thus gives her his confession—when in fact he is making a guess based upon some very debatable conjecture. And this one puts Harriet firmly in the crosshairs.
Before the "family games" begin, Harriet's fiancé, Edward, takes her to his family Thanksgiving dinner. I also learned that Catherine Steadman is an actress! I admit I did an eye roll when the story first began and it's about an orphaned young woman who falls in love with an uber-wealthy dashing bachelor and she's worried about meeting his very influential family. He always wanted to find someone like himself (a killer? ) But Samatha also reveals that she was not the blond woman who was present at Bobby's death. Once he does, we start to sense that something about the family isn't to be trusted, especially as they have a curious passion for games and a tendency to take innocent fun a step too far. Later, Peeta dispels whatever doubts Katniss has about whether his feelings for her are real when he provides several details about how she looked and behaved on their day of school, when he says his crush on her began, proving that he was paying attention to her long before he was selected as a tribute. I didn't expect the story to turn out as it did.
