Both stories are cleverly intertwined. A great weeks's holiday read although I was in Turkey rather than Spain. The main character Hernando is romantically involved with the captivating Fatima with her dark hazel eyes and exotic beauty. But soon a chance encounter with Rosa, the daughter of their Jewish housekeeper, leaves Liesel in no doubt that something isn't right. The story itself feels rather mundane and just typical fiction.
