Guardians of the Maiden Series, Book 1. I know most love this series but I hated it. One, it's just so incredibly long! In fact, she liked it that way. It is interesting to see Reaver in this story–especially considering the A Shadow in The Ember has him appearing as a smaller, younger version. So now we get to see him through two stages of his life, and I am wondering what happens in his younger life that makes him so grumpy and dry now–he's almost sarcastic 99.
There are twists and turns, and a lot of surprises along the way, and I was completely hooked, madly flipping through 600+ pages and unable to stop thinking about the story, even when I reluctantly had to put it down.
